Collection: Scissor case development story
Utilizing his work experience as a machine tool designer before becoming a hairdresser

When she participated in a hair show in 1997, Ishikura was wearing a scissor belt.
It took 10 years to develop a scissor case that does not need to be worn. Before becoming a hairdresser for 46 years, he was an electrical machinery technician. He used a scissor belt until his mid-40s.
After that, I changed to a commercially available free-standing type. The reason was the strain on my back and the discomfort I felt when wearing a scissors belt as a hairdresser... I realized that the tool belts used by electricians and carpenters, who deal with objects, are logical, practical and cool, but scissors belts, which deal with people, are from the perspective of preventing infectious diseases (structurally difficult to disinfect/notice from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, Health Bureau, Public Hygiene).
However, no other tabletop scissor cases that were easy to use and had a cool design were ever released after that.
Ishikura, a hairstylist with a knack for crafting and inspiration, teamed up with a local small factory after 10 years of prototyping to commercialize the innovative scissor case STAR ESPACE in 2023, which aims to relieve the physical and mental burden of wearing scissors and store them hygienically (easy to disinfect).
