Collection: Scissor case development story
Utilizing his work experience as a machine tool designer before becoming a hairdresser
When Ishikura participated in a hair show in 1997, she was wearing a scissors belt.
A handmade scissors storage container (holds 9 pairs) inspired by inspiration around 2005. Although it didn't store scissors neatly, it was very practical. I used it until I commercialized the innovative scissors storage container.

It took 10 years to develop the non-wearable scissor case. Before becoming a hairdresser with 46 years of experience, he worked as an electrical and mechanical engineer. He also used a scissor belt until his mid-40s.
I later switched to a commercially available freestanding type because it put strain on my lower back and I felt uncomfortable wearing a scissors belt like a hairdresser... The tool belts worn by electricians and carpenters, who deal with objects, are logical, practical and cool, but I had doubts about the cleanliness of scissors belts, which are used on people.
However, no other freestanding scissors cases with a user-friendly and cool design were released after that.
Ishikura, a hairdresser with a knack for crafting and inspiration, teamed up with a local small factory after 10 years of prototyping to commercialize the innovative scissor case STAR ESPACE in 2023, which aims to relieve the physical and mental burden of wearing scissors and provide clean storage for scissors (easy to disinfect).
